The Enticing Hills
The enticing hills beckon from across the lake
The distant shore remote, though yachts nearby
Offer the chance, perhaps, of getting there
But how to sail, to cross to those far mountains?
Like life itself, the noble dream is broken on the rocks of hard reality
The high purpose defeated by the low obstacle
If I cannot sail or get passage on a yacht I cannot cross
How many greater visions fail for want of such a simple step?
Words can paint the pictures of our imaginations. They form our
ideas. Ideas influence the way we think. Thinking determines our
personalities and our personality determines who we are and how we
live – so say the many great philosophers of humanity.
Please have a look at this picture – look at it in detail. Pause
for a minute, reflect on how if affects you and try to gather yourself
creatively. Now express your thoughts in a poem of up to 10 lines.
